Underground Rappers with a unique sound?

Anybody here have any good examples of what I explained in the title? Post up anything you want if it fits the description.

Here's some of my favourites: A-Team

USDA, the non-Young Jeezy side of the group, so Slick Pulla, Boo Rossini, JW, 2Eleven and former members Blood Raw & Roccett

And like my username says... D-Tay

I know, probably a repost and haters are gonna hate. But Anyways, like I said above, post up any of your favourite songs.

I don't know how "underground" he is, but I have always liked Justice's voice.



Also Sunspot Jones and Living Legends are fantastic

And one more for you guys, I agree with Blue Scholars, one of my favourite groups, look their stuff up if you haven't before, they KILL IT!

So 'underground' hip hop has been my shit for as long as I can remember. However underground you classify any of these guys or group, I promise you they are the best. Please give all these songs a listen if you haven't heard them, this is as good as it gets.

I don't know, but the way I use the word  underground in hip hop is pretty much anyone who hasn't sold gold on an album or gets much attention on a national level. I generally use the term loosely, I see it as not so much as a genre, but as a status.

So by that logic, I can even chalk up Sheek Louch as "underground"

Bringing some more stuff to the table here. Dungeon Family is always a good choice.

Not really underground at all, but I am always surprised that people don't recognize the name People Under The Stairs. Absolutely unbelievable flow and crazy lyricists.


Finally, a group that I recently found, really great group, and this is my favourite song of theirs.

this guy in my town named incise is a producer who just makes beats and features all these local mc's and singers on his albums. I think it's unique. As far as I know he records a lot of the instruments too instead of just sampling.

Michael Franti himself is not underground at all anymore, but his earlier work, especially with his group Spearhead sure is, nobody I know has heard of them and they definitely have a unique sound. Not necessarily rap, but worth a listen.

Love this song, Cunninlynguists are so good, but Gangsta Gibbs on the second verse, so sick. And last year he signed on with Young Jeezy, so his name has been really getting out there this year.
