Seeing as the UK is a fairly small part of freeskiing on newschoolers and hasn't really had any decent edits put out(excluding ones that were shot outside of the UK) I was wondering if anyone would be interested in making an edit using each persons best clips? just let me know if anyone would be down for doing this or if it's just a stupid idea.
I'm game. I will probably spend a bunch of time on uk dryslopes, indoors and in the scottish resorts and would be up for donating footage. Going nicely with my general plan to get alot more shots this coming season.
Good to hear, Dryslopes would be good as the rails are usually pretty decent, but the enviroment becomes pretty repetitive, indoors is better too because of the constantly changing park and decent rails as well. Met a bunch of the EUSSC when they came up for the roxy thing, not sure if you were there, and yeah I'm hoping to get some good footage this year.
the club is going to do a bunch of trip through to bearsden so I should get some decent size kicker footage plus we've plans for plenty of indoor sessions so a lot of chances for rail shots. I think it would be good to keep it just to UK as there are plenty of edits from brits hitting up mainland europe, etc , like britain's got skiers I feel people get the wrong idea about the UK, that there isn't anywhere to ski. when in fact there are some decent chances for hitting park (albeit small parks) plus a whole load of gnar terrain around the scottish resorts and "mountains" of england like this
I also dont think i've seen a single shot out of the park aswell. not a single cliff, steep or pow its embarrassing actually
meant to answer the roxy question, it was billed as a ladies day so the guys running the trip felt that girls feel intimidated by the guys when trying freestlye so said they were going to give priority to girls for the seats in cars, ended up a guy had to drive anyway but meh.
Yeah I'm the same, only really gotten park/pov shots, don't really have a telephoto lens so shooting bc is hard, would be good to get some urban this year, just made a bungee, hopefully it'll be decent. And oh fair enough, coulda just taken more than one car?
I would put together an edit but this season was my first serious steps into the bc so not really anything worth showing off but coming season ive got plans for more serious riding with friends one who's really game for getting shots. I think i tried but finding people to drive and fill up cars was painful this year. Everybody busy or just lame and not interested in a chance to acctually ski.
and my park riding that i got filmed was alright but not great or pov so not really usable for putting together into an edit as lots of pov park shots are annoying.
After going through the edits that have been posted for this year's BGS contest. This is the only worthy pow edit. In my opinion this is the winner in terms of not being just in the park and has a different (better) music choice.

I'm definitely up for this, and for trying to get it some more exposure! Should we set some type of group up to better organise it? I get the feeling there are a lot of "lets make an edit" post which kinda never amount to anything.
Sounds Good, I feel a Facebook group would be better than a cult because it provides notifications, so you'd know if anyone posts easily, really depends how many people are willing to do this, I'd prefer it be less rather than more, also are you mike Wakefield? Bgs finalist?
I am not no. Facebook is prob the best shout ya, and you're right with numbers too. Let me know if I can help out though, am unlikely to contribute a lot with footage.
This sounds like a really good idea and i'd be down to help in anyway possible. Whether it be getting footage, editing or anything else. A facebook group or page sounds like a good idea too. And i agree, the UK scene has good exposure via Unity but thats about it in my opinion. I didn't really like any of the BGS edits as i didn't feel they really represented the UK scene for what it is. AWESOME!
I've got a t2i, 17-50 and hopefully getting a 70-200 by Christmas. I thought about getting a glidecam but transporting it along with a tripod, camera, lenses, skis and boots is way too much of a hassle.
Threads via the FB group. Give me a shout if anyone is looking to film in Glasgow. I'd also be up for some urban if we get some snow in Glasgow/Edinburgh?
Post in the Facebook group, it'll alert everyone, and I can't really travel down to Glasgow, but I'd be down for building. A big jump somewhere, preferably Cairngorms, could probably get a bunch of people for that.
fair enough, if you need it to be longer you could open it to uk riders abroad cause i've seen the likes of twig have been getting some decent urban shots in europe
Im game! im ski captain of LUSST, we go to Castleford quite often, got some decent cameras like canon 550d's etc, but im so hopeful for snow to get some urban shots. will join your fb group
