The Eighty Six Review

Today, the nice guys at Stept Productions let me take look at their new movie, The Eighty Six. The movie can be purchased on Stept's website for $19.95. For those of you who haven't seen the trailer: (no embed on iPad) http://vimeo.com/46670956 Stept really shows their filmmaking skills in this movie. With a great line up of skiers, and a good mix of urban, park, and backcountry skiing, Stept flexes it's muscles and shows us that they are really a front runner in the ski filmmaking industry. Shea Flynn kills it as always. The movie really surprised me with how good it was. Watch out Level 1 and Poor Boyz, Stept is coming through. Now for my two pieces of criticism: I liked the riders, but I think they each deserved segments, rather than small parts in an edit. The music was ok, but I think for the next movie, some better music choices should be made. Overall score was a 9/10. Say tuned for more movie reviews! Thanks, and always, Splice On.

Splice, You literally are in no place to criticize someone else's movie, edit, etc.

My question to anyone who has seen it, was the movie in 1.6:1 ratio (typical vimeo video) or 2.35:1 ratio (widescreen)?

I want to say it's in 2.35:1, not 100% on that though. The DVD includes all the Stept edits from the year (Sixty/Forties, Tom Wallisch: A Walk in the Park etc.) so I just eyeballed it from those.

ya its obvious by now splice is someone in the "industry". a group of people assosciated with stept. i hope its not brogan but that makes sense. its unfortunate because he coudnt handle the hate he got on this website.(not hated now but at the time he was skiing). i am glad he took himself off the skiing grid because he used to cry when hitting handrails after not getting a shot and skiing stopped being fun for him.(i.e. madison dfd) and now look at him go with this splice thing. using an alias to troll is stupid your defeating the whole purpose of shit talking and trolling in the first place. i guess maybe its his way (or stept for that matter, every thread with splice involves stept.) of getting back at the kids on this site. way to go dude(s)
