Breck Design a Feature

Breck is bringing back the design a feature contest for Dew Tour:

-Design your feature and submit it via the app on the Breck mountain facebook. Not based on likes as the final decision will come down to how it works with the flow of the course by the park crew. You'll get airfare, lodging, lift tickets, ground transportation to/from breck, and VIP access to all Dew Tour events/activities for yourself and a friend.

Sounds like you can also submit it via email at breckinfo@vailresorts.com. If you know where the feature was last year you probably have a good idea the flow and style that will work in Freeway.

Anyone do it last year?

the design is definitely possible, it's just whether people want it haha, I'd find it interesting to watch but it might be too hard for pretty much everyone.

i like the idea, not to sure about the cannon rails though. Id say dont get to crazy with it, maybe put a wall ride down like the left side (if you are at the top of the stairs looking down) and a ledge/box down the right? keep the phat pipe in the middle obviously.

^that's sick, just make the landing for the rain bow rail a little farther a way and mabey a gap to the rails cause you will have a lot of speed

The lower jump boosts you over the jib (for taps) and the higher one lets you slide the roof.

More urban-type shit.
The bus stop is more of a bonk, but the gate is a rail. Logically the rail would be bouncy (its only grounded on one side).

I have always been thinking of a jump like this, but nobody has ever built one. The gap is 40', and both the takeoff and landing are curved and tilted! Imagine trying to straight air this shit!

I am such a n00b with this SketchUp shit.

1. How are you closing those faces with the curved edges? I am always forced to use the push/pull tool

2. How do you get images on the faces of things (like Dew tour on the tank or on the face of a jump)?

I want to see a pole vault type of thing. There'll be a bar like 20 feet above the lip, and there'll be two jumps, one that sends you over the bar so that you go really high and one that sends you under it so that you can do some sick upside down taps.

Sick but would be death, rainbow to down flat with suck a big drop? And the flat rails to flat, you would loose to much speed. Them if you hit the dfd you would just fly, if the dimesntions were different it would be dope

that's just like mine. or at least part of it lol. i had it done up nice but my comp crashed so I had to remaster that shit on MS paint, sorry for the out-of-whack wave box/cannon rail. I think the concept is still pretty obvious though

Quick update, everyone.

First of all this contest is for you and a guest. The rules portion of it will be updated momentarily. Second
, if you submit your design, please do not submit it again thinking it didn't go through. Everything has to be sent to 'live' through the app and the process takes a bit. All entrees/designs will be online/live via the app same day usually within an hour.

As for where it is going to go questions:
If you know Freeway and the flow and general idea of what has happened the last two Dew Tours, then you'll know what feature is going to work best with the area.

Pretty common for mtb, check out the 2012 colorado freeride festival burm to burm feature, it'd be sick on skis though

That would be sick, but I can't see to cant tricks going down on it as only a jump(this is a slope course and they want big tricks), maybe a C-Box to banked landing the other way? Or bank jump to C-Box? That would be sick!

BTW so much talent on NS for these designs you guys are all killing it +K!

I can see it in like a park shoot or some sort of red bull event(like Playstreet or the other one in Europe with he wooden features.) , but not really in a dew stop. Still the sickest feature I've seen yet in this thread. It would be really fun to hit, cork 3s would be sick on it, it reminds me of a skier-x jump and the one Byron hit, but better.
