Sony Vegas Pro Test from Dillan Hodak Media on Vimeo.

Is this as clear as it should be? Or am i just being too critical of myself. It was filmed on a 550D with a kit lens and it was all free hand with no stabilization, so don't hate too much on the shakiness. I also edited in Sony vegas pro 11. So if anyone has any tips that would be great.

looks sharp to me. It looked like you were filming wide open for the most part. Bump the aperature up to 6-8 and you might get the results you're looking for. it looks fine though

a few shots also lookl ike they go just out of focus. Stopping down would help you get things in focus as well

well the whole video was shot on 7.1, so i don think that's the problem.

did you mess with the colors at all? if you did i wanna know what you did cuz im getting a 550d this week and i want my video to look like that, also have you heard the omar linx version of this song?

False. If anything stopping down would make it harder because the DoF is shallower.

It appears you exported properly because it gives you the HD option. But if focusing is a problem there's a few ways to help you out:
If you're on a camera with Magic Lantern, use the magic zoom to help you with focus. If not, use the magnifying button to make sure the object you want is in focus.

I like it a lot and so does everyone else, but learn the ins and outs of dslr filming before you put ML on it

stopping down means decreasing the size of the iris, increasing dof

Maybe we're thinking of different terms... by stopping down you mean lowering aperture (ie 5.6->2.8)? b/c thats what I mean

yeah you use a velocity envelope and choose the points where you want the speed to increase/decrease. there's tons of tutorials online

stopping down means closing the lens, not lowering the aperture value. so going from f/2.8 to f/5.6 would be stopping down, not the other way around
