some ski boots have different fits! the only way you'll know is if you go to a boot fitter and try some on!

Booters are for a wider foot while the other full tilts like twalls or classics are a skinner feet. Ski boots usually fit in a smaller size than shoes do, but the most important thing to do is go to a boot fitter. Its the only way to find the correct boot and to get the right fit. Theres a whole thread about this stickied at the top of gear talk for more information.

Boots are one of the most important pieces of gear. Since Every single foot is different, any advice will probably not work for you since you dont have the same foot as the person giving advice.
What I recommend is go to a good boot fitter. go to the "Regionals" Forum and ask the guys who ski in your area. They will know the closest good shop.
Go to a good boot fitter (you'll probably have to drive far seeing your
in Illinois) and get properly sized and fitted for a boot. You dont
need full tilts or SPK to ride park. Just proper fitting boots with the
right flex. Nothing ruins a day on the hill like trying to ski in poor
Fitted ski boots.
If its price issue save money or put boots on lay
away. You got 4 months till ski season.
Hope this helps.

go to a bootfitter. there is no way to tell if they will fit, because people wear their shoes too big. my shoes are a size 10-10.5, but by my boot size, i should be in a size 9. and the fits of full tilts are different. there is the classic, with a 99mm last, and the influence series (which includes the booter) with a 102 mm last.
sparknotes: just go to a bootfitter

Go to a good boot fitter. tell him up front you cant afford to buy boots from his place.
But then ask him if has time in his schedule to help size you up and look at your feet. Any good fitter will have the come sense to help you out cause he will be a skier like you.
I would say tip the guy 20 bucks for his time to let him know how good of a fellow skier he is.
If he says fuck off he's probably paid on commission and probably isn't a very good fitter to begin with, so dont go to that store.
Any good fitter will help you cause when you buy boots cheap, you usually end up needing work on them and you'll want a good fitter to work on them. This where knowing a good boot fitter helps both you and him.
Point of the story: Any good fitter is just like me and you. A guy who loves to ski. You be dick to him, he'll be a dick to you. You be honest and humble, he'll give you as much support as he possibly can off the mountain and some cases even on the mountains.
Go see a good boot fitter. Every skier should understand this ^.

NO NO NO. DO NOT ALLOW FOR GROWING ROOM.
this is the worst decision possible, buying boots too big so they last longer. they will cause problems such as shin bang, be unfortable to ride, and make skiing more of a challange. back when my parents were buying my gear, they bought me boots with a little room to grow, from a tent sale. that was like 3 years ago. this year i went and got new boots from a bootfitter, had them done properly, and was able to go from a 27.5 to a 26.5. and they feel soo much better

I'm have the exact same size foot and I'm on 28.5 Booters and they feel perfect. Though if you want a little extra space then bump it up to the 29s. You really cant go wrong
