Never understood the hype around either of their names. There are way better artists than the entire Odd Future camp out there, and Hopsin sounds like some kind of shitty updated version of Rakim. Freddie Gibbs has been one of the best underground rappers out there, and he deserves way more publicity than both of those other names.

Tyler as a rapper is not that good, but as an artist he is fucking sick, and thats why OF got so big, not because tyler is a good rapper, because he has that something that nobody else has.
Also Domo is the best.

I like them both but I would have to go with Hopsin. his lyrics have some meaning at least. Tyler kinda just talks about hating god and impregnating humans of the female gender.

He raps about stuff that almost no one would. A lot of the rappers now talks about how much weed they have, or drugs they consume; tyler is straight edge and does some of the illest shit ive seen.
And all of the stuff revolving OF, the lifestyle, the dressing style, the lyrics, the videos, etc.. I bet he is the mastermind behind all of it.
And I will not talk about Loiter Squad

Maybe, or maybe not. I mean most of the rappers talk about gucci, and their luxurious lifestyles, I think he is stepping aside and rapping about other stuff that is not the most common topic to rap about or the easiest because of the content or whatever but he does it pretty well too. Thats what I mean.

Don't really understand the preference thing. Listen to both, they both make really good music. Hopsin's ill though, didn't really like him then i started paying more attention to his lyrics and what he's about. I'm a fan.

I don't know shit about rap/ hip hop in general so i'm not very qualified. But listening to Ill Mind 5 was just eye-opening. The kid makes a lot of solid points about the decay of the hip-hop lifestyle isn't afraid to go against the grain to do so. He's put his finger on a problem and voice it perfectly.

Half an hour of Youtubing odd future and Tyler and i'm just sort of like.. WTF is this?

Things Tyler has done (age 21):

Started a label
Helped with release and promotion of 20 albums
Started a successful clothing brand and does the designing himself
sold out of a hoodie that had a $160 price tag as well as most of their other product
Produced nearly all his own beats, and also beats for at least one or more tracks on most of the 20 releases he helped with.
Directed 7 music videos.

Started a tv show on adult swim
This last one is my opinion.
And i think the best thing that Tyler has done is got all his friends paid no matter what talents they have. He brought everyone together and brought everyone up.

To everyone that hates Tyler, the creator. He doesn't even like to rap. Give him some props on the other success he has had. And also listen to Mike G and Domo Genesis for some rap from OF if tyler isn't your cup of tea.
