Some people live in a cave, apparently... this is one of the biggest stories going right now. None of O'Reilly's lawyers have denied that he made the statements, only said that they don't amount to a criminal level...which isn't true; the only standards they have to meet to count as sexual harassment are A) the plaintiff has to feel offended and B) they have to meet an objective standard of offensiveness, and, reading them, the statements can be pretty easily accepted to meet both. O'Reilly lawyers have also filed a countersuit on charges of extortion, which is, in a nutshell, a complete joke; they claim that the settlement offer from the plaintiff's side (60 million, an admittedly absurd figure) immediately amounts to extortion. Either the guy's lawyers haven't been practicing for very long (as in, a week and a half), or they're just making a posturing move, because pre-suit bargaining goes on in just about every one of these cases. Anyways, should be interesting to see how it turns out.

By the way, for a guy who's so anti-spin, O'Reilly is a bit hypocritical when he tries to discredit this woman by pointing out on the air that members of her lawyers' firm have donated to the DNC. I thought that was a bit of a joke...
