Alright so i'll be doing around 70% park and 30% tree skiing. In the park i'll be doing around 50/50 for rails and jumps. Since I do go out of the park a little more often than others do would the alpha 1's be a better choice? Also i'm 5'5 and 125lbs. Should i get the 170's or 176's?
I don't use my Alpha 1s a ton outside the park, but I definitely noticed a difference going from the 2011 Halos to 2012 Alpha 1s. The shape is the same, but if you're an aggressive skier, you'll feel the difference in the base, especially in not-great conditions, and for switch riding.
The Alpha 1 seems like a better fit for your style of skiing than the Halo.
For all-mountain/tree skiing you're going to want a ski that is a bit stiffer than your average park ski; The Alpha 1 contains Armada's Hybrid Triple Zone Core (our stiffest core).
In addition, you're going to want a base that will let you really open up outside the park, making the race-inspired Comp Series Base the perfect call.
The Halo is an amazing park ski as well, but it lacks the two features listed above.
For a skier who is 5'5" and 125lbs, we would recommend the 170cm. However, that is just a recommendation. Keep in mind, both the Alpha 1 and Halo ski a bit longer than a traditional camber park ski (usually a couple cms).
For the best advice, stop into your local Armada authorized dealer and they can help guide you to find the right length for you.
Ok thanks. I know my local shop sells armada skis so i'll stop by there and ask. Also I thought a ski with rocker like the alpha 1's skied shorter than traditional cambered skis.
