T2i Footage quality help

My raw footage from the t2i looks great then as soon as i put it into Sony vegas and put the video online it looks like shit :( what am i doing wrong?

Give us a link to a video you have online. If your using vimeo, make sure your following their compression guidelines.

I dont have any at the moment it looked bad so i took it off i dont think the compression guide lines have anything to do with it i think im rendering it wrong

What do you mean your rendering it wrong?

What you should do from start to finish:

Import your videos into a video transcoder. Transcode from H.264/MPEG-4/AVC to an uncompressed codec. Im not sure which one it is for CS5 or Vegas 10, but for FCP its gonna be Pro Res 422 LT.

From there, import your videos to the editor. Do what you want with them until you want to export.

When you export from the editor, your going to want to follow these guidelines if your using Vimeo or Youtube. Look at a simple tutorial on youtube to render/export.
