Do you know any olympic athletes?

Anyone of your friends or someone from your town competing in or going to be in or have competed in the olympics?
Theres a swimmer from my city who was in the olympics... as well as a runner who most definitely will be in the games one day.

Bode Miller! Grew up in the town over from me, ski'd Cannon too.

My cousins were in the military so he goes over there when he gets new civilian-issue assault weapons and they shoot with him lol

My girlfriend's cousin made it to the semis in the swimming trials in Omaha this year (fly maybe?). He's going to be a freshman at Stanford this year and will train with the swim team and also the US national team, so hopefully he'll have a really good chance of making the next Olympics.

I used to Ski Jump, so I know the whole U.s team for ski jumping and nordic combined. Billy Demong who grew up two roads down won gold at the last olympics.

I know David Morris/the Australian Aerials team.

They're pretty cool. They've been training with us every summer at the water ramps at the UOP since I started ramping.

Pat Danine went to the 2010 olympics for freestyle mogul skiing, I ramp with him when he's in town too. Cool guy. Plus he has a gnarly cross in his d-spins.

Scotty Barkhe, sorta. But only because I always wear San Francisco Giants apparel and he's a huge dodgers fan so our acquaintance is solely based on hating on each other's respective baseball teams.

I never knew one personally but my parents ski raced a lot and have met some. In my basement we have a four runner bib from the 1980 Winter Olympics. I'll look for it in the A.M.

Liz Gleadle and Mike Mason were both with the Vancouver Thunderbirds Track and Field Club when I trained there and are competing in Athletics (Liz is the first Canadian woman to ever qualify for javelin). I remember working with Liz at our manure sale one year and watching her eat one of the mushrooms out of the manure on a dare. I also competed against Jessica Smith in cross-country every year but never really knew her.

Shannon Woeller was one of the last women cut from the Women's soccer team but played in all of the qualifying matches. She was a year above me at PW Mini (only 30 kids per grade) and helped out our school soccer team and ran with the x-country team one year.

michael phelps, along with a whole bunch of other swimmers, swim for NBAC (north baltimore aquatics club), along with a bunch of my friends.

and like 5 kids ive gone to school with within a year or two were at the trials for swimming.

I know taylor phinney pretty well through cycling. And also Todd Wells from the US mountain bike team. And also, if they add cyclocross to the winter olympics for 2018 or 2022, i could very well be an olympic athlete /claim. But its true and im very proud of that.

My aunt was going to be in the 1984 olympics for synchronized swimming, but the Americans didn't go because the Government didn't want our athletes going to Russia (thr cold war was just ending or something)

Found out earlier this week that Aly Raisman the gymnast is from the town where i work and that this girl i work with knows her well. hopefully meeting her later this summer we'll see. and my girlfriend's cousin carried the torch this year which is cool as fuck

My uncle was a swimmer, went to the olympics twice in '88 and '92. Swam 200 IM, and made the finals both times but finished 8th in the final both times

I've met a few Olympian runners through a running camp that I went to for a couple of years, but the closest that I know personally ran in the Olympic Trials for the marathon this year.
