I look at buying boots at a good shop (sports den SLC plug) as the cost of the boot minus the cost of the fitting which is included with the purchase of the boot. I got FT first chairs and had a couple hundred dollars worth of fitting done to them. Which took the normal price of the boot way down compared to what I would have had to spend had I bought the boot online and then taken it to a shop to get fitted.
