So I dropped my skis off at my local shop today to get my bindings mounted. I have been going to this shop for the past few years and haven't had any problems.
Today when I walked in, I was confronted by the man behind the counter with him asking me why I am getting my skis mounted in August. I simply replied with I am going off to college and would like to mount them before I head off. I then realized that he was sour because I did not buy my new skis and bindings at his shop when he mentioned something about how I am bringing my online purchase to be mounted in his shop. I simply asked him to show me their selection of Liberty skis and Salomon binding that I could have picked from prior to buying my new setup. He replied that they didn't carry those brands. I smiled and said "Center-mounted please".
But now I am sitting at home feeling uneasy about the shop mounting my skis. Not that they would intentionally screw up the mount, but since I did not buy the skis through the shop, I don't believe they would be covered.
Has anyone ever had incidences where they had a mount that went wrong?
I'm thinking about taking them back and dropping them off at another shop a little further away since they won't be done until a few days.
