T2i Filming format question

Hey guys i just recently got a T2i and have been doing alot of filming. But i have a question on the format that ive been filming in. i typically use the L with a crecent beside it but theres also a bunch of other ones like S M and RAW and RAW + L Im just really confused and need some help!!

S,M,L,and raw are all for pictures they refer to

S = small size
M = medium size
L = Large size
Raw = instead of like jpg, which does sharpen the picture in the camera. Raw processes the photo alot less in the camera and leaves it more like it was captured directly
Raw + L means it takes a large format jpg along with a raw copy as well

Hope this helps but none of those have anything to do with video.

Why does it give you the option to change it on the video screen then?

Because you can take photos while recording video.

You can't change the T2i's video codec.

when you are in movie mode and you press menu you go three tabs to the right to see what you are talking about and if you look at the little picture on the tab the first two are little video cameras and the third and forth are picture cameras so the first 2 tabs are the video settings/options and the 3rd and 4th are photo settings
