Personally, I think it's kind of ridiculous to have a set list of expectations for someone before you even meet them. Obviously there are things that I would prefer, but I honestly like different traits for different people, so really, it could be anyone.

I used to think this way. I'm not saying your mind will change, but my life got way better when I started holding guys to my expectations. I went from flirting with everyone to only paying attention to guys that really fit my list. Made my nights out a lot more enjoyable and took away a lot of stress in thinking, well, i don't like this much, but this is so great. No, fuck that, I've dated too many racist dudes/passionless but so nice/ fit but unconfident about height guys to know it's just not worth it anymore to try to settle. The only thing on my list I can possibly work with is eye color. I just like light eyes, but if he has piercing black eyes, maybe I could be into it.

Yeah I totally get what you're saying, I just realize I like different traits on different people, it's the person as a whole I'm worried about, and if there's too many things that bother me, I'll generally realize that before I make any commitment. also I'm not worried about efficiency, I've got all the time in the world

You better work on that since you're putting yourself at the bottom of the list with lack of that skill. I know many males that are suave in the kitchen, and just as suave with a campfire. Brush up, cause it gets you far.

Campfires are one thing. Ovens are another. Grills. Meh. Basic steaks/burgers/fish/chicken are easy.

Camping food is good as long as it is edible. Ive had many a meal camping I would never have at home.

I'm just sayin' I know a lot of all around good cooks. Both in the kitchen and out. Oven, stovetop or campfire (I camp a lot so this is an impression for me). But I have a little age on most of you so that might play a role too. If a 30 yr old can't cook, yeah that'd be something we'd have to fix right away.

I'm not going to read all pages, but i don't understand this. To me, a perfect boyfriend would be unique. I cant make a list of "perfect" traits. I don't want a boyfriend to be "perfect." i think flaws make people interesting. I don't care how a guy specifically looks. It's a bit difficult to explain.

This is why i leave off things like personality, habits, types of shoes that he wears, his profession, where he grew up, and about 1000 other things.

My list is pretty damn easy considering there have been quite a few guys on here saying they fit it.

Ok, so I don't want a metro guy, i want a guy that has a common interest in winter sports and music, not even all music, but just one type. I think thats acceptable. I think me not wanting to date someone that's racist is fare considering it's happened twice and my extended family is filled with white, black, asian, still waiting on some mexican to make its way in, we joke about it. I need someone that's ok with that. OMG family oriented! I want to have kids, why should I spend my time with someone that doesn't.

Then I have the physical things. I've dated shorter guys, I don't mind it, but they guys always lack confidence and don't like me in heals and blah blah blah, its easier to not go for that. Penis size, well, I like to enjoy myself and too big is too big, too small is unfortunate. Fit but that seems to go hand in hand with the winter sports thing. I go hiking and and like adventure. Is that out of line?

So really, my only really picky thing is light eyes. It's just something I'm drawn too. Maybe because my eyes are nearly black, it's different to me and really pulls me in. I later said I can sway there, but thats something that always catches my attention.

Most of the guys I have dated fit into this pretty well. Several fit entirely. The one right now fits entirely. But it's ranged from musicians, to writers, to pilots to law students to engineers and right now a fireman.
It doesn't hurt to know what you like.
