only one of the strains can have this high of a mortality rate; and at that, not often. it's usually less.

the current strain in Uganda has a 40% or so mortality rate.

still, this is a very high mortality rate. similar to smallpox which had about 35% mortality rate. luckily smallpox has been wiped out. except samples which are still being held 2 places in the world. which I am not OK with. just look at pictures of a smallpox infected person and you'll see why.


anyways. point being. media is a bit misleading saying it has 90% mortality rate.

Yea sure Uganda is pretty isolated, but I hope you all realize how easily a virus as contagious as Ebola could spread into a epidemic. If one infected person gets on a plane man this shit could spread pretty damn fast.

All i know about the CDC is that they didnt do dick to stop the zombie outbreak in walking dead and pretty much abandoned ship leaving only one guy to try and figure out the cure..as far as government agencies goes the CDC is pretty far down on my shit list already just because of a tv show

An epidemic like this can be pretty contained with not a whole lot of effort.  The incubation rate of this virus is so fast that you almost have to try to get infected.  Yes it kills fast, but in this case its helping us so it wont spread like the swine flu or other viruses

Prions is rather easily avoidable as long as you don't eat infected cows or infected peopls brains.
Unless you are the unlucky .0 00000000001% born with the defect







Ebola pretty much melts your digestive track and before you die you pretty much bleed out completely. Contacting the fluids of someone who has ebola spreads it and the Reston strain is airborne. Reston has only been found in monkeys however.
