2012 chronics vs. 2012 afterbangs K+ for good answers

im looking for a durable ski that will last a while, and i've heard that the chronic doesn't hold up all to well. what are your thought? k+ for good answers

if i was you i would get chronics, ive heard afterbangs are complete shit. havent skied either though

I've heard many things about the afterbangs being awful, I'd say the chronically are defiantly the better of the two. I know a guy who fell decently hard and bend one of his afterbangs and it was rockered after that haha

Did a few laps on the Chronic last season, such a fun ski. I really enjoyed the flex it was stiff enough to hold up on larger feature but still completely buterable. I can't really comment on durability as I only did a few laps but they had been ridden 30/40 days and they seemed to be holding up well.

Skied afterbangs for 1.5 seasons and one of my friend has some chronics so obviously ive tried them out quite a bit. Afterbangs are really buttery, break pretty fast if you ski hard, chronics are way better skis imo. The top sheet isnt super durable (I think his are 08/09? or something like that so it could've changed), but flex is rediculous but still playful and can hold up well on jumps etc.. Easy decision imo if cost isnt a issue, Definitely the chronics.

Chronics have a reputation of being a sick ski, and this year they're supposed to get even better with the capped walls and tip and tail rocker. Afterbangs get waterlogged really bad and overall just kinda suck. I've heard they are a good urban ski but i doubt you'll only be hitting urban, and since the Chronics will hold up in the streets fine, Chronics all the way.

If you're looking for a more durable ski the chronics are the way to go. Afterbangs have been known to break and don't last long. However you don't need to set your mind on lines, there are plenty of great skis besides the chronics and Afterbangs don't think you need to pick from one of those.

That really depends on what you're looking for. What kind of a skier are you? Park? All mtn? Basically, what do you want to get out of the skis?

i just started skiing in the park last year, and i want to become a better freestyle skier this year. i tried out the on3p filthy rich and loved it, but they're too expensive. i want a ski that i can ski groomers with my dad, and also go in the park with my friends.

well you can ski groomers with anything really, ive skied groomers with my mom using my hellbents before. It depends how hard you will be skiing the groomers, like if your going hard and flying down there edging hard you might have trouble with park skis cuz your edges will get wrecked from rails but if you are casually skiing with your dad you should be fine with anything.

iv got afterangs and i dont like them because i wish that they were a little stiffer but thats my opinion

not really sure, but after using any ski in the park for a while, the abuse from rails will wreck your edges, so after alot of abuse any ski might not hold up

the edges will be fine if your just skiing groomers considering thats what skis are made to do. but if you are skiing only groomers i would suggest a less park oriented ski

Afterbangs will break in no time. A buddy of mine had his topsheet peeling off within the first day of having them and after 2 months they were completely thrashed to the point of no return. I've heard good things about the Chronics but I've never actually ridden them. If your looking into a pair of park skis from Line check out the new Travelling Circus sticks. Rode a friends at the end of the season and they were some of the funnest park skis I've ever jumped on. Super buttery and playful. Hope this helps

I am going on my second season with the afterbangs, and they seem to be holding up decently, with a few minor problems. People on here bitch too much about edge cracks, or base gouges or the skis being "too heavy". If the ski glides on snow, then it is in fine condition to me
