so im helping my sisters friendd find a car for under 7k. does anyone know any good places to look in sounthern mass (near duxbury)? he would like a jeep but ill take any suggestions.

Dont go to a dealer at all for buying a used car...unless its still under warranty, which for 7k, it definitely wont be! A dealer is going to face rape you on pricing!

Shes is looking at a Jeep, they are pretty bomb proof. Get the 4.0L inline 6, hands down one of the most reliable and bombproof engines ever made. What model is she looking at?

DO NOT LET HIM BUY A CAR FROM A USED CAR LOT!!! if it is a dealership who sells new vehicles and they have a used car section thats a different story. Chances are you wont find the Jeep you want at this dealer however sometimes they do have a few vehicles at reasonable prices. That being said, purchasing used cars is kindof an art. For that money you should be looking at private party sales only. The reason why is because if you get to talk to the guy that has owned the Jeep for the past 80,000 miles than you actually can get a feel for how the person took care of it, whether or not it was serviced, ect. ask as many questions as you can. if you want jeep specific ?s pm me and i will give you all pertanent jeep issue ?s to ask. the reason i suggest only buying private party is because it gives you much better info about the environment the car is coming from. a dealership is not going to tell you that the jeep came from a 16 year old kid that thought he had some expedition vehicle and romped it every chance he could. a dealer also wont be able to prove that the jeep came from a 55 year man who keeps his house so clean you would eat off the garage floor. who would you want to buy a vehicle with 100k from??? you just get better information about a vehicles history and environment. ALSO CARFAX IS NOT A PROMISE THAT YOU ARE GETTING A GOOD CAR. just because there was no police report doesnt mean there was no accident. i work in a bodyshop and there is no database that carfax gets accident information from if a customer pays cash or if a police report wasnt taken oftentimes no carfax info gets reported.
