Anybody else get forced into having a timeline today?  I did.  I never selected it, never wanted it and I want to go back.  Anybody know how??? 

Really getting sick of facebook's bullshit and thinking about deleting my account if I can't go back.

Every year or so, Facebook makes a minute change that doesn't really make any difference. People piss and moan for a few weeks and then forget about it. You won't remember the old lay-out in a week.

there is a chrome extension which means you wont see your profile in the timeline format and you can set it so that every profile you view will be in the old format but other people viewing your profile will still see it in timeline form. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dnedfaenfnkikficknkklbdedlecmpgc?hl=en-GB it works and isnt just a piece of malware, ive tried it- from an almost anonymous person on the internet

Basically it's just annoying.  I never wanted it, so why the fuck change it?  Now I have to get used to some other shit now?  Look I realize most people don't give a fuck it's just annoying and it makes no sense to me why you'd change how people are able to organize their profile info. 

It's like signing up for excel and being switched over to powerpoint at some random interval without anybody saying anything.  OH YOU'LL GET USED TO IT, DON'T WORRY.  Great. 

I guess I just don't like it when I'm forced to do anything I don't want to.  They asked me, I said no, they did it anyways.  Fuck 'em.

Basically this. I'm content with the old profile, so why fix something if it isn't broke?

I'm sure once they finally switch me over i'll get used to it and the world most likely won't end, but right now to me the timeline thing is fucking consfusing, while my profile is very simple and easy to use.

Because then 5 years from now, the website would have the same layout and not have progressed with the times. Would people be happy if they went back to the very first layout and sharing options that facebook first had?

Every website needs to change to stay modern, or else they fall way behind. Even NS is updating every year. And I would venture to say that most of the updates have been for the best.

people was used to the old facebook, and they was in love with it. and when changes appears the cycle is broken, and some people feel like their social life is crashing down. its been like this on every update facebook has done, and every time people bitch about it. its going to be like this on every future update, so its time to just get use to it bitcheeezzzz

everyone here has had it for months. as soon as the majority of people have it you get used to it, and i actually quite like it now. makes a lot of stuff easier, and the cover photo thing is quite cool

I think timeline is fun, I hid stories throughout my profile of things like starting underwater basket weaving and my father having to fight dragons to save me during birth.

Mine is still old school. I think I might be ready for timeline because the cover photo thing is cool. I don't like timeline because it's your facebook self's life story right there for everyone to see. I don't want people to see what I was saying in highschool, but I don't want to go through the trouble of deleting all those posts or whatever I have to do.

Two completely different websites with different purposes. Google can be simple because in the end, it just needs to give you a place to type in search terms, and then show a list of results.

Facebook has as many photos as you want, and as much information as you want. And it all has to be displayed in some orderly way.

Timeline is facebook's way of moving on from the college format it started with. It's become used by so many different types of people that the old format was outdated.

I still have the old one simply because i haven't really wanted to switch, but I'm not gonna sit there and complain when it does switch over.
