What would be the best ON3P ski for touring?

hey all im keen to get a touring set up and i have heard so many good things about on3p. So i was wondering what would be the best ski for touring. Im 21yo 110 lb and 169cm.

I ski in Australia but have plans to go the US and Canada (west) over the next few years.

hope some people can help me.

The Billy Goat and Vicik are available in a tour lay up, the tychoon is a sub100 waisted option. If your going to be spending time in western Canada and the US, the BG tour would be ideal for day tours. I personally use a 120 waisted ski for day tours.

Really depends what you are looking for - a more traditional touring ski or something more oriented towards farming pow and soft snow. If you want something that will be pretty versatile and good when it is hard, vicik is the right choice. If you want something a bit more oriented towards soft snow and powder, the billy goat is the right choice.

Would you be skiing in bounds at all? Would it be a one-ski quiver, or do you have other stuff you would be using as well? Lastly, what would you be mounting it with?

thanks for the advice to answer some of your questions
i have salomon lord as a all mountain ski, my filthy rich will be arriving soon as my park ski. so this ski will be a powder ski/touring unless i get a powder set up and touring set up but i think that might be a bit unnecessary.

So i guess it will be a touring/powder ski that i would use both inbounds and back country.

i was thinking i would mount them with those bindings that u can tour in but also lock in when going down hill. something like the marker tour f12 but i dont have bindings yet so i will probs go with wat you think will be the best.

please let me ask me for any more info if it helps.

yep, they r getting a tad old but they r going well as a aussie all mountain ski but i wouldnt take them traveling to usa or canada tho

I would probably go with a Billy Goat then. If would give you FR for park, lords in an everyday capacity, and BG for soft snow and touring. Depending on where you were skiing you could use the BG in an everyday capacity as well.

If weight is a concern, you could go with the tour model. But if you are not doing tons of touring, might not be worth the cost over the stock model.

thanks for the help. yer i probably wont be doing heaps of touring.
i hear heaps of positive things about the caylor, how would they go touring?

We have a number of people touring on both the jeffrey and caylor. Since they are more center mounted, they are not as nice for kick turns and such, but they are certainly not bad skis for touring, especially if you are only doing a small amount of it. In that case, the 171cm Caylor could prove to be a good fit. A jeffrey would work as well. Just depends how wide you want to go. Both options would be a lot better for jibbing than the BGs, which likes to charge and are much more directional.

dont buy a ski just because you hear the brand is good. if they dont have the ski your looking for the brand isnt right for you. look at other brands if on3p doesnt have a touring ski you want

yer i know what ur saying and i am looking around at many different options. its just that i have found the best source for information abuot on3p is newschoolers i mostly just use google and look at youtube revews for most other skis.
