You really are a fucking idiot.
Car culture isn't like what you see in the movies or on TV. Sure there is the "crowd" that really are morons that go to Zumiez and buy every Ken Block shirt in stock, throw a monster sticker on their car, and think they are car people.
But then you have people like me, who have grown up working on cars, gone to school for automotive, and even worked as a mechanic. Then on top of that, traveled 1000+ miles to meet car people at a show you've only ever talked on on the internet and phone to spend 5 days with in a cabin. I don't think you realize the camaraderie behind car culture and the amount of people that are "just like you." I've met many good friends through cars and had good times with them. It doesn't matter who you are and where you're from and how much money you have, its all about being able to get together and have a good time to share something you're all passionate about.
As for the whole car culture being "pseodo macho, manchild clowns," 2 people I stayed with in Georgia are active members in the Military and another one owns his own Coilover business. They sure sound like clowns to me.
Before you go writing off car culture as idiotic, waste of money, etc, I suggest you do a little more research and actually try and understand it before you chastise it. To car people like me, you make yourself sound very ignorant.
