90% unarmed civilians, due to a insurgency an enemy combatant isn't what you would normally expect them to be. We have made some mistakes and in no way is it good but you got to understand the point of counter-insurgency which is the operations we are currently conducting.
More for the security of private corporations? Sure their ARE private companies out their and in their hay day could be cowboys but now they fall under the UCMJ since they are declared lawful combatants under the Geneva Convention so that is out the window. Did you know that the Military has the highest amount of members who have college degrees and higher education per capitia? and its actually HARDER to get into then college? Also you just can't 'quit' like you could in the 'real life'
