I remember in the 90's going to shows for 15 bucks that today cost 35 bucks... Why? because artists suffer loss of revenue from pirating so they charge more to perform.

Some will say that torrenting just compounds the problem, but theres a reason concert tickets cost so damn much, there are way too many commercials on TV and they make 3D movies. The people who run record labels/TV stations/production companies arent stupid. They know exactly how to squeeze every last dollar out of you, they factor in torrenting into expenses and profit margins, and use the above measures to recoup losses. You might not know it, but your still paying for that shit some way. Not to mention before torrenting people would make mix tapes by recording cassettes through the radio and record their favorite TV shows on VHS. Its not a new thing, just a new means to do it.
