Skiers destroy long rails when compared to boarders
The man is literally beating a dead horse making the reader visually connect the image to the saying "beating a dead horse", which is a used to poke fun at redundancy.
Its something new to their resort and they're stoked about it? Using your logic, nobody can ever be stoked on landing their first seven because other people have been doing it for years.
I've hit a 100 footer before and was able to make it to the end. It took me a good part of the day to do it and I was stoked as hell, even after seeing at least 5 kids completely destroy it with swaps and spins out.
regardless of whether its been done before or not not that many mountains have 100 foot rails. and to be on one for that length of time is fun and exciting when you get to the end. i myself have never felt the joy (only made it about 90' on windells 100 a couple years ago) but sliding/balancing for that long is fun. youre being a tool.
