Yummy Placenta

I can't believe that some people keep their placenta from the birth of their newborn child and take it home to eat. Really WHAT THE FUCK. Why would you even think about eating that. Their reasoning is that it's what animals do in nature. I have seen animals eat their own shit does that mean you should too? I don't have anything really against the people that do it  and they can do what ever they want. How ever you will never see me eating a woman's placenta.

I'm just wondering if there is any health value from eating the placenta? Is it worth eating or are there vitamins that can just substitute eating it? There are companies that will grind up women's placentas and put them in jell caps and say its healthy for a women who has just given birth to take and every women should do it. I think they are just in it for the money.

I think andrew zimmerman's bizarre foods had him eat a cow placenta before. he said it was interesting. I don't think he liked it much though. I'm sure it's very protein and iron rich.

some women get their placenta made into pills that they take months afterward. Its suppose to be very healthy and gets them back on their feet
