So I just came back from a Europe trip for 3 weeks where I skied in switzerland. I packed my bag the night before I left. I checked my bag and when I got home I got a note saying "we searched your bag" blah blah blah in the bag. And my cbars are missing. I had them before I left. The bag was in my sights until I got i checked. They were the most valubale thing in there cause my more valuable stuff was in my carry on. SO, fuck bag checkers. Theyll steal your shit
i always get those notes in my ski bag after i've been in the mountains. i've been told it's because i've skied over blasted snow and the new bomb sniffers they have in the airports now a days flag my bags because of it.
huh, that actually makes a lot of sense. i always assumed my ski luggage was searched because it was larger than normal luggage and things could be hidden more easily.
u slow? tsa can cut/take your locks off at any time, thats why ur supose ro use tsa cert locks that they have a key for-so they dont cut your lock, you give up all rights when flying its simple
For next time, if you pay for the basic trip insurance (something like $30-$60) If anything is stolen on you trip, you simply file a report and they will replace it.
It's very much worth it if your traveling with anything you'd be sad to see go.
It is far more likely that they have a high rate of success in busting skiers for various items that it makes sense to develop a bullshit reason to search you.
i don't know. i always check my suitcase with my skis, but have never had my suitcase searched. just my ski bag - several times. you'd think they'd check both if they had an ulterior motive.
Use a lock. And get a tsa certified one. It's not the tsa that is stealing your stuff, it's the baggage handlers that put it on the plane and unload it. The tsa will open it, check the contents, and re lock it before they send it off
