ok so my computer has some sort of virus or something. No matter where I try to go on the net, it always goes to this website called www.heretofind.com. i can't go to any websites on the internet but ns because it's my homepage. so it's not like i can search google for it. someone who knows computers PLEASE help me, please


did that make any sense?

hey!! lol yeah i have a thing called ad-aware but it scanned and said there were no harmful files. so I don't know what to do. just don't go to heretofind.com. it's bad


did that make any sense?

make sure to update in ad-aware to get the latest definitions... but its probably not spyware.

its some sort of virus probably so you need to scan your computer with norton or mcgaffe virus scanners

download mozilla firefox untill you fix it. It is a tits web browser that is often not attacked by virus because a lot of people dont use it so virus programmers don't waste there time.

if you are using windows and IE, go to Start > settings > control panel , and click internet options. Make sure the general tab is selected and type the url for the homepage you want > then click Delete Cookies, then Delete files, then Clear History. Then, open the browser and see if anything has happened.

This may not help at all, but can't hurt, along with everyone else's suggestion to run ad-aware, spybot and norton.

I'm not a he. and this sucks so bad I can't do any research for my history report due tomorrow. I think someone was on my computer yesterday because the date it was downloaded was the 13th. but i wasn't home at all yesterday and i came home and my computer was screwed up. I did leave it on all day though and the here to find thing is porn. someone clicked on a link called XXX porno. I am pissed


did that make any sense?

yeah then you definately have some type of virus from all the porn.

you dont have a virus scanner?

if not go buy norton for like $25 and get that installed and scan away

sounds like you have spyware and its hijacked your web browser go to a friends house goto www.spybot.info download the program and run it on your computer you should be good to go its not a virus

so ad-aware wouldn't be enough? I think I have a norton disc somewhere. I know absolutley nothing about computers so I will try that and see if it works. I have a suspicion that my brother was using my comp to look at porn because the comp in our basement is broken and we had to buy another computer a few weeks back cuz he destroyed the old one with porn. I should go kick him

ad-aware is enough, ad-aware has one of the biggest spyware lookups of any free program. make sure its updated before you run. if itdoesnt find anything its most like a virus not spyware

bothwell innovations LLC is his company name now that he became a low level corp last year i believe.

ive beta tested all the spy buster software for him and i will fucking make a SS of the disc i have for testing purposes if you fucking want.

I ran norton antivirus and there were NO infected files. I don't know what the hell is going on but my computer is running really slow and I still can't go to any sites. It changed my homepage too.

alright. there are 3 pieces of software you need to deal with ANY spyware you may have and they are all free. The only advantage to buying spyware software is to have a real time scan(something that is always runnign in the background and watching and scanning your computer) THe software you need is adaware, spybot, and hijack-this. if you would like help running these and you will with hijack this, and since you cannot download them directly send me a message on aol i will send you my screen name in a private message.

by the way i work in the computer security field, sort of. I work for my university making sure people in the dorms and other employees can connect to our network. I extensively have to remove spyware and viruses from peoples computers. so i do know what i am talking about.

backup all of your shit, format your harddrive, and reinstall windows. that's the best solution. that deletes EVERYTHING, so you start off fresh. then, just stop downloading so much porn, and you're set! :p
