Canon t2i vs t3i

my budget is 720 right now but am working for more as we speak which ever one i get will i will get a rode videomic  and a glidecam and would also like to get a good telephoto lense and an good fisheye but would like to go ahead and get a camera and the mic then work for the rest later

it's pretty much the same exact camera besides the pop-out LCD. I'd normally say save money and go with a t2i, but lately i've been seeing the t3i's going for super cheap as well. It's really your call on which camera you want, but I think the most you'll save is $100 by going with the t2i. In terms of video, they produce the same image

well the problem is i have to get the camera in person so unless bestbuy or walmart or staples has a deal on the t3i than its the t2i but would love to hear some lense suggestions

you should be able to find the t3i for cheap now since the t4i is out. it might be hard to find a t2i in a store since it's been replaced twice.

You would be best off going with the tamron 17 50 instead of the kit lens...you can find first hand accounts with that lens all over this site. Maybe a 50mm 1.8 too, those are around 100 bucks

I suppose you could be okay for awhile with a t2i body and a 50mm....but if you have the cash buy the t2i body and a tamron 17 50 non vc lens. The tamron should run you about 350

a good lense then a mic cause i already have a good tripod i could use until i have a glidecam i geuss

what tripod do you have? also you should get good lenses before you get a glidecam, theres no point in having a glidecam if you only have a 50mm lens

1. Get t3i. Articulating screen is probably worth it alltogether. around 500$ usually.

2. buy a used rode mic. The standard one is plenty good. Should run you no more than 110ish

3. BUY A VINTAGE LENS setup. Go to KEH.com. Get a pentax 50mm f1.7 + EOS adapter. Should run you around 40-50 depending on shipping and all that. If you want a wider lens, like a 28mm or a 35mm, they should run you maybe 10-20$ more.

4. THEN deal with your glidecam setup. Which is totally up to you. But focus on getting the camera, mic, and lens setup before anything.

ok well i got the t2i for 500 with an 18-55 lense so what next because another factor is a ski pass for next year so i can get out there and film and ski at will

Everyone told you to get the Tamron 17-50 instead of the kit lens. The body wasn't the wrong choice, the lens was. The kit lens isn't that bad but you'll outgrow it quickly and wish you'd gone with the Tamron. If I were you I'd return the order, get a T2i body only and buy the Tamron. You can save money while you learn how to use the camera then get a mic.

Someone asked this before and I'll emphasize: What tripod do you currently have?

i got the body and the standard lense for 500  in my hand so i still have money and enough in range to got close to the tamron and i dont remember what tripod i have to find it in my basement
