Replying to Is it November yet?
When the ski season ended prematurely this year, I swore to the gods that I would protest their actions by avoiding the summer completely. As soon as my planks were waxed and ski gear was stored for summer, I moved into a windowless room in my parents' basement with my laptop, bed, a minifridge, microwave, and some other furnishings and bolted the door shut. I installed a cat door through which my mother could deliver me my meals.
I quickly realized that I was setting myself up to be in terrible shape come this ski season, so I began running laps around my small room for hours a day. Knowing that cardio is not the single key to fitness, I also began lifting various items in my room as weights, and doing plyometric exercises such as jumping from the floor to my bed.
I have made a fairly decent wage by reviewing things sent to me from an online service that my mother has delivered to me through the cat door. Those ads on TV don't lie!
I have completely lost track of date and time since I have been in here. I forgot to give myself a clock. The date and time on my macbook are incredibly erratic and inaccurate. My mother quickly defaulted to delivering bowls of Rice Krispies and milk for every meal, at seemingly random intervals. There is no sunlight. I feel as though I have been in this room for at least a complete summer.
So I need to know from one of you; can I come back above ground to once again bask in snowfall and cold weather? May I end my protest of the gods? Has Killington opened? Is it November yet?
