All.I.Can Group Shred..... How?

So I just re-watched All.I.Can and was wondering something about the Group Shred segment. How do they get the shot of the snow leaking into the summer photo, and get the guy skiing in the shot at the same time? I would love to try something like that but have no idea how to do it. Thanks!

i'd guess that they went there in the middle of the summer, got a lot of shots of where they had filmed the past winter, just of the green nature, etc.

in post, they used a program like after effects, brought both the winter and summer clip in, then did keyframe masking out one of the shots with a mask feather, so they could both have it blend with the motion of the skier and blur the two shots into one. if that makes sense...

Yeah its a pretty simple effect, the main part is keeping track of where you film. You need to try to make sure you get the cameras as close as possibly so the transition will be smooth.

When you have both summer and winter shots filmed from the same angle you just need to animate a mask to reveal one from under the other.

After effects could do this very easily.

Have a look at the bike film, life cycles, they do it even better.
