right now my skis are 161's and i am 5'6 and growing. is that length long enough for this upcoming season or should i get a new pair. i ski about 95% park.
If you ski 95% park I would definitely suggest moving up to maybe even the 170's if you're young and think you're going to grow a lot more. Then again it depends on how much you rip your skis up--I can't make mine last more than a season, so I would buy a pair of skis fit for my size right now, because chances are they'll be destroyed before they're the right length if I buy them bigger to grow into them.
if you have the $$ to make it happen, it might be worth it. then again, i skied on 159s last year and i am 5'9. they were way way too short, but i made it work. bottom line, you'll be okay, but you would probably like a longer ski
If you are still going to grow a lot and don't totally destroy your skis every year I would look at a low 170s ski. If you ski a lot of days per season and thrash your skis on rails, then you should get something in the mid 160s. Keep in mind though that ski length is largely preference and there are pluses and minuses to skiing longer or shorter skis.
