Atomic Automatic

I'm looking to expand into a powder ski for next season. From what I have seen most of the skis in this category seem to be beefy. This is why I am interested in the Automatic. I usually ski at Silver Star (mainly glades, with typical resort steeps mixed in as well) but I am looking for a ski that will be able to open up in bowls at Revelstoke and maybe Kicking Horse. Would this be the ski that can do that? I understand the ski is new for this fall. Also, I'm 6'3" about 180lbs.

If I wasn't going to be on the 191 Billygoat, I would probably be giving this ski a shot.

I hear about this ski too. same as before if I hadent already gotten BG 12/13 I'd go for this by the sound of it. Sound like its gonna be a killer ski.

The Automatic was 100% designed by Sage and Dana to be more of a charging ski, but without being over damped and/or too heavy. It still has a surprisingly lively feel to it. It has more tip to tail taper than the Bentchetler, less tail rocker than the Bent, and titanium V-shaped strips in the rockered zones of both the tip and tail to help keep things quiet when busting through mank.

I'm 5'11" & about 170 lbs and I ski the 186cm as an everyday pow ski and I have the 193 for big days or when girls are around.

Being a tiny (5' 8" 155 lbs.) person who likes giant floppy pow skis in any condition this thing wasn't made for me. My boss who tested it (bigger dude likes the fucking murder death rail and go real fast) LOVED it. My impression of it that if you ski tons of giant lines involving big ole' drops and giant turns this thing is for you. In the glades and the trees though this thing is a bit unruly for my size. With your size it would be pretty sweet. Personally I would look into the Chetlers in the 190 range which are quite a bit easier to deal with in the trees but also super stable when you are going mach twelve.

So cliff notes:

if you ski alaska style lines at pro speeds 90% of the year this ski is meant for you.

if you are a resort skier get the chets.
