Help to find DSLR for me +K

What are you planning on shooting? Lots of sports? Lots of low light situations?

Based on what ive heard/read a good choice would be canon 30/40/50d with a tamron 17-50 lens or some fast primes.(Note:i do not have any experience with any of the gear i recommended, only online reviews) And a tripod.

Video or photo?

With that budget and leaning towards photo I'd get a refurbished Nikon D5100 with 18-55mm kit lens and a 35mm prime lens. I'm not a fan of the Canon Rebel line, and the Canon 60d seems out of your price range (you could go used though).

Prime lenses are limited in the fact that you cannot zoom, but for that you get superior image quality, low light performance, and control over depth of field (how much of the picture is in focus). Using a prime lens, you will learn a lot about photography. If you have only one prime lens, you should get something around 35mm on Nikon, 30mm on Canon. They give you a normal angle of view, which is the most versatile. Many people will tell you to get a 50mm prime, which is fine because they are cheaper, but that focal length is much less versatile unless you have a full frame camera.

You might swap that 18-55mm kit with a Tamron 17-50mm as well, especially on Canon where the kit lens is not that stellar. However, there's no shame in starting with a cheap kit and a cheap prime, to get a feel which kind of lenses and which focal lengths you prefer, before starting to invest in them.

If you want canon, I'd go for a used 40D plus a tamron 17-50 f2.8 without image stabilization. It will dominate any rebel.

Canon 20-40d for sure, you really don't need 18 megapixels that the t2i-7d offer, around 8-10 will be more than enough for web and smaller prints. The tamron 17-50 non IS is a great lens as previously stated, a nifty fifty or other fast prime would also be a good choice. Maybe take any left over cash and save for a good tripod, 190x legs and a head is a great choice.

I'd say go for the t3i. Go to 42ndstreetphoto.com and check them out. They're priced way less. I got one and I'm thrilled with it
