Using womens skis

so this i what im looking at i found a really good deal and personely i think the graphics are sick. im just wondering if these would ride any diffferent since there womens. or is what makes a womens ski just the graphic/ Click for larger image

How tall are you and how much do you weigh? I know I could get away with riding women's skis because I have the body mass of an average female.

I say if you're a little smaller than average, totally go for it.

they use different woods for lighter cores in womens skis. so if you have a womanly body (hah ya pussy) then go for it

I don't think it would be an issue then. If you like them I say get them but get a few more opinions first, just because buying skis is always an investment.

i had a friend use womens skis last season he's smaller so it was fine. just make sure your friends wont give you a lot of shit for having them

women skis are just softer compared to mens as most of them aren't made for vigorous activity. also its awesome when hiking back up the hill cause they are so light. the skis you picked above definitely don't look like a women's ski. i tend to like women's graphics over mens but thats just me.

the graphics aren't girly at all.
Personally i wouldn't buy them cause there not girly enough.

so go for them, there lighter and cheaper!

although some womens skis aren't built as sturdy as mens but you could check for these.

This goes against everything said in this thread so far.

Also, this was the case years ago. But in the past decade, ski companies have actually altered women's skis in terms of weight, length, flex, durability, and yes, graphics. I know looking good should play about a 98% role in buying gear, but there are other things you need to look into when ski shopping.

Very dependent on the ski. Especially for independent companies. Fat-ypus and Moment skis are identical for the male-female ski at the same size. Line skis has some cross over skis as well.
Obviously graphics are a final consideration, so you just need to do your homework on the actual differences between the male-female ski. Generally the female ski is lighter with a more forward mounting point.

if your a lighter guy like me it might help you out with butters, but you try bigger drop or through some icy super G turns they won't be the same

 if your a beginner, they'd prolly be fine

buyng the same skis for my girlfriend

Here's my two cents. Surface already kind of blows, the skis break very often, have construction problems and their only redeeming value is that they are pretty damn cheap. if you are going to get a GIRL surface ski they are just more likely to break on you unless surface makes the girls skis differently (doubt it)

especially if you are smaller, women's skis are a good idea because they are designed for women who are smaller and lighter and they normally come in shorter sizes.

Surface Skis don't really break, last year their park skis were made to be price point, and they broke. But this year is a different story... they totally revamped the construction and they're the best skis i've ever used, this kids just a classic NS surface hater...
