Another which binding thread

i'm 5'8" and 185lbs and just bought a pair of on3p jeronimo's.  after lots of searching it looks like the majority of newschoolers hate on marker and love on rossi fks/look pivot/tyrolia peaks.  salomon sth drivers seem to get some ok reviews and i've been looking at a sth 14 driver.  trying to get out of buying a binding for <$200 and the rossi,look,tyrolia's are all $300 or up.  I found a pair of STH 14 drivers for 180 but have to get the larger brakes separate for another $40 bucks.  does this sound like a good idea/deal or should i just pony up the extra for the more pricey options?
