I wish I had a mountain bike and could ride more. its sooo... much fun. As for places I go to sugarbush, vt and highland, nh and rent my bike.

Bike at Mt Snow starting this year use to bike a kind of hush hush trail system some where.

My bike is a mix up of parts I can find for dirt cheap.

Local resort + day pass + rental pads + rental bike = up to $200, no less than probably $150. That adds up really fast.
And that $5000 would only be after maintenance for multiple years if you have a sick bike unless you have a crazy sick bike.
Anyway, bikings fucking expensive either way haha.

This. It's crazy to think how many pairs of skis you could buy with the money from a $5000 bike. I'd say it's worth it though, as it's a hell of a fun way to spend the non-ski months

also, i ride mostly places such as duthie hill, colonnade ect. except i get a week in whistler every year which is pretty much as bad ass as it gets. as for my bikes, i ride an sx trail on the mountains and a transition trail-or-park every where else

i tried downhill biking a few weeks ago and daamn it is hard. i used my ski jacket so it got stuck to the seat all the time and lifted the whole bike over me(if that made any sense) anyways i liked it and i will continue with it, photographing it mostly.

just go to your LBS, they need your support! plus you can try them on! but if your really set on buying one online-

if you buy from pinkbike, i would recommend only buying ones that are new or just tried on...
