who fucking cares we had the same controversy in canada when we hosted, does it really matter?

I mean the singlets and stuff would probably cost like $200 made in america, and like $2.30 in china so do you want ALL MUURICAN UNIFERMS or pay more taxes?

I think it's stupid. I wouldn't mind everyone in the U.S. paying an extra 1 cent in taxes for the US uniforms to be made in the U.S. The olympics are all about pride for our country and our nation and we should be more proud and supportive of our country, maybe starting by having Olympic uniforms made in the U.S by U.S companies and U.S citizens. AMERICA

the olympics are about putting aside nationalism and conflicts with other countries and just getting along along with each other. thats what you should be focusing on, rather than complaining about supporting another nation besides our own.

The U.S. olympic team is privately funded you dolt. Ralph Lauren (as a partner) gave them the uniforms. Ralph Lauren has made the uniforms before for the team without them being made in china so i don't see why they couldn't do it again.

The Outfits for the opening ceremonies are made by Ralph Lauren. But they're are ridiculously marked up if you (non summer olympian) would like to purchase them. The womens blazers are going for $600 and the male blazers at $800. and thats with them being made in china. imagine if they were actually made in the US, they'd be marked up to like $1800. i could careless about the politics of this. All i want to see is Galen Rupp kick ass in the 5k and 10k and of course beach volleyball. just my 2 cents

The US olympic uniforms should be made in America because it's a pride thing, but the fact that this is the issue that the leaders of congress are coming together over is the saddest part of this story.

Yeah. But with the way Ralph Lauren marks stuff up, especially if it was Olympic uniforms made in the US that'd be roughly where it'd be at. I love Ralph Lauren but its so expensive sometimes. Excessively.

They should be made in the USA, as previous people said for a pride thing. Also, who cares about the retail markup, you dont need to buy a blazer, nobody is forcing you so it shouldnt matter.

But how many people outside of the ski industry want fresh custom FTs? Like you and other people said, its a pride thing. So many people are going to want those blazers because they're Limited Edition US Olympic Team Ralph Lauren blazers. They're going to feel pride for America and if they have the cash to buy one then they would probably buy one.

I mean.. i get what you're saying and all but i dont see why the Olympic head quarters or whatever wouldn't target smaller U.S companies or even big U.S companies to make the clothing. If i was an olympian i would want to represent the USA not the USA and China. The U.S still has a terrible economy and a billion dollars probably wouldn't make a huge dent but it sure would help out.

Tax pages don't pay for the uniforms (not saying you believe that but it seems like a lot of people are getting that impression), The sponsors and donors do. If Ralph Lauren really wanted to make those uniforms and support their country they could of easily made them in the U.S.
