As an open-minded believer who has a hard time with christianity, i can understand where you're coming from. I go to a Christian college, biggest mistake of my life. I can't even explain how much i fucking hate it. anyways, i would encourage you guys to have an open mind. i am in no way trying to shove christianity down your throats, i deal with assholes like that every day. Just be tolerant of others.
As for teaching something you don't believe, think of it as growing kids' morals. like stories where Jesus heals the sick, just think of it as you're showing the kids that being selfless is good.
Im not trying to 'deface' christianity if you will, i know its not for everyone and im ok with that. I believe in God and enjoy talking with others about their beliefs. I've been brought up in the christian church my whole life, and hated every second of it. I have a very hard time believing things in the bible. I think its figurative and not literal, like a book of moral examples to live by. I've found my own connection with God, and I'm happy with it. I can't fucking stand people who are 'high on God' and have to tell everyone around them that they are so much better than everyone else
TL;DR
I believe in God, some christians are assholes. You can make this a good opportunity to teach kids good principles
