Detuning Skis

Who detunes there ski? is it reccomened if your are riding slopestyle all day? who does this and does it really make the edges last longer?

I do. It def helps on rails. Makes it harder to catch an edge.

yeah, i usually just bang them on a wall or something to dull the edges.

Give the edges a good dulling. Will help a ton with rails man and will increase the life of your skis

it's not super necessary but it does help if they're super sharp. just use a file on them

it can help, but you don't want to destroy your edges. Use a Gummy Stone instead of filing them down

leave the underfoot area sharp but de-tune the tips and tails. Makes skiing much more enjoyable.

Gear Talk and the searchbar have all the answers to your problems. If you're hitting alot of rails detuning is worth it.

take a file to ur edges underfoot, like 6 inches past the end of each binding, so u dont die on rails. leave the rest alone
