Ski edit tips

I searched this one found a couple short threads but no real good ones. This is just to answer everything about ski edits. Things like type of software type of camera good ideas for fillers, sick camera angles or even to show off your own edits and get comments/ reviews on them.

Just a heads up man, think a bit more about what your posting before you post. Depending on the type of camera and lenses, the filming technique will differ. With fisheye wider FOV types of cameras, I like using the down low and close type of filming. This technique is used in Travelling Circus and the skate movies. If you are using a handy cam or something with a more standard lense, always film with a stabilizer. When taking footage, always make sure you have a high frame rate if you want to do slow motion. 60fps and up is good for slow motion. Use all stabilization tools whilst editing. Keep the editing simple. No fancy colours. Might have the odd burn effect. Choose your song very carefully and make sure it suits the motion of your footage. Music choice helps people get in the mood. Its all in the filming. be creative with camera angles. Take a lot of footage. You will have a lot to play with.

Good question!

First you need to chose a camera.  Unless you are a pro, you don't need to spend much on a camera so I would recommend using your cel phone. 

The best software to use is Windows Movie Maker but it will take a lot hard work to learn to use it.

Once you finish your first edit make sure to post it in ski gabber because there really isn't a better place for it.
