I am 100% not a marine biologist just some dude that likes to dig for clams and eat them, so I could be 100% wrong on this, but aren't clams filter feeders? And that muscle (the "foot" right?) is for moving around?
I somehow doubt that that much salt is good for a clam like that, maybe he is just trying to get away, not lick up granulated salt. Who knows though.
I'll be digging for these little bastards in about 5 days. any tips or pointers??? I guess spread salt all over the rake?? I'm totally gonna try this if I catch a few though.
