yeah no worries guys... tv and film are a pretty fun industry to work in, and if you can combine it with something that you love like skiing, then it tits.
at the moment i'm using a HP Elitebook 8740w (the quadro fx card in those machines really help with render time and dealing with uncompressed raw files from the likes of a RED or Phantom.
for the tight phantom shots we used a 600mm ARRI lens (so, like a $100k piece of glass on the front of a $300k camera). it definitely helps to have a baller operator that knows his glass. the phantom in itself is a pretty unconventional camera to use, and even me (and i'm an ENG cameraman by profession for the biggest TV network in Australia) had a hard time getting my head around it. the only shot i really nailed myself, was the followcam one of Bobby landing, after numerous attempts - and i've been doing followcams with EX3's and larger format camera's for over 10 years.. but then again, you also need an extremely chilled out guy that will even think about letting you do skiing followcams with his phantom.
