I'm not to up to date on the latest eye protection hardware, but part of me is saying the screw would shatter the glasses into his eye. However in this case the drill probably wouldve slipped off the plastic seeing as it was on a curved angle.

Sweet baby Jesus.. At 0:40 I didn't know what I was looking at for a few seconds, then it registered and yelled "holy shittits". Reminds me of this one tv show i saw where some dude had a golf club go through his head

learned about a guy in my neurophysiology course this week named phineas gage. he had an even gnarlier object go through his skull and somehow didnt die.

Because he was blessed, he could have easily died from that. Now he can continue to live his life, spend time with loved ones, etc. I think im going to show this to my metal shop teacher he loves telling stories like this to encourage safety in the shop.
