Binding help for ON3P Billy Goats

Ok guys, just picked up some Billy Goat's (So stocked).  I was thinking about putting some FKS 155's on them but I figured I'd ask anyone who has any helpful information.  I was just wondering if the FKS would be a good binding or not on these and if I should throw something else on there like a STH16, Jester, or whatever.  Not trying to cause any hate towards myself or look stupid, it's more of a question for current BG owners and what they prefer. If i'm not mistaken, the FKS are a little heavier than the STH and Jester models and was wondering if BG owners prefered a lighter setup, heavier setup, or doesn't matter what kind of bindings, the ski will be fun regardless.  Also if owners could post they're favorite mounting position, if not that's cool. Already have an idea on where to mount.

Is the Billy Goat a pow ski? If so I don't see a need for an FKS and a Jester/Griffin would probably be your best bet seeing as I've heard they're quite light.

FKS blow when clipping into anything even remotely deep. Don't ruin that beaut of a ski with a shitty Jester/Griff. Toss some Dukes on there for a really good slack/touring setup. Or wait for that Guardian of whatever Salomon/Atomic deal

Thanks for the info and response however I don't plan on doing any touring do a duke/baron really isn't a option I'm looking to explore.

I had FKS 180's on my 11/12 191 Billy Goat's and I will be mounting FKS 180's/Plum Guides with DynaLook plates to the 12/13 191 Billy Goat's I will be ordering in the near future.

I have never experienced a noticeable issue that pertains to the FKS only when clicking into the bindings in deep snow. If there is snow in any bindings, it can cause issues. To me, it's a non-issue. But I love and trust the FKS bindings, I used them before they disappeared from production and now that they are back in production, its the only binding I will use.

As far as mounting the Billy Goats, on the line! It's the recommended point for a reason and believe me, they kill it. Looking forward to getting on the 12/13 191 Billy Goats this upcoming winter!

I also ordered some 12/13 BG. Never ridden ON3P so hopefully it turns out well.

 Thinking of putting FKS140 on them. The 180 is just overkill for my size so I pretty sure 140 is what I want. Im 5'9'' 170lbs

if you are looking for slack country / light touring the salomon / atomic quest is so sick. Demoed them here in utah this winter seem legit. You can switch to walk mode without taking your boots off.

FKS are sometimes a bitch to get on, but the tradeoffs are worth it in my opinion. Its hard to buy a bad binding nowadays, pretty much everything suggested in this thread is awesome, it might just come down to whatever you can find for a steal.

In all actually, I don't think I'm an aggressive enough skier to be popping out of my bindings a lot. That being said, I can explore looking at either STH or ffg bindings, however I don't think I need a 16 din binding so the 14s would probably be a better bet for me. If I can't find a binding I really think is more beneficial for me than what I have I'll just this my FKS on there. I appreciate everyone's response and I'm actually surprised at the number of responses I actually got. I'm not too worried about mounting them right now, is it is only July, but I just thought I'd check in to see what everyone was feeling. Thanks for all the great answers.

i have heard that fks's tear out of pow skis i would get the sth driver 14 BG's are such a sick ski. did you get this years?

If you already have some FKS 155's laying around, mount those to your Billy Goats and call it good. Save yourself the money and hassle of buying different bindings. You will be more than happy with that setup!

Unless you are looking to sell the FKS 155's for something else, if so, hit me up!

FKS have a narrow mount pattern, its true. If pullouts were an issue with our skis, I would maybe advise against it, but to date, I've not warrantied one of our skis for a pullout.

ok so i think i am just going to go ahead and get these mounted with the FKS i have.  Sadly enough, i dont have the funds for this years BG's (blame student loans). But i was able to find a pretty sweet deal on some older ones for a sweet price.

No, but I've been riding FKS for a pretty long time. It only takes a few days to realize it's the easiest binding out there to put on in pow. Stand up the ski by the tail, put your toe in, and pull the dildo until it clamps your boot.

If you are stomping into your skiing like a noob, it's not going to work.

so i got the bindings all mounted up.

turns out the brakes are wider than i thought they were and now i have another question.

is this too much overhang? should I attempt the task of bending my brakes or are they fine?  Not too concerned about the right ski but the left is a little sketchy to me.  Any thoughts?

i have fks on all my pow skis (with the exception of a pair of peak 18s) and wouldnt want anything else. if you have problems putting them on in deep snow you should probably just stick to sipping hot chocolate in the lodge.

Would I need to take them apart or how should I go about bending them slightly? Don't really feel like breaking anything.

You can sorta just tweak them. You really only risk breaking them if they're hammered or have been previously bent. I've had to do it a few times and its worked, I cant say you wont risk breaking them though.
