Finding a Macbook Pro with busted HDD, best place?

So I'm looking to find a 15" unibody MBP for casual use around my house and on the go. Not going to be running video editing software, maybe a bit of PS + Lightroom, so I'd like to have a dedicated GPU. Processor speed doesn't matter that much, and ram can be easily upgraded by myself. Budget is $600-650
What I'm looking for is one with a fried hard drive, to get it for cheap and replace it with an SSD on my own. Anyone know of a good place to find one? I've looked on CL and ebay, but not a whole lot of luck (most "for parts" ones have water damage). I must be missing some place where someone is just giving one away because they don't know shit about PC's.
Inb4 Mac vs Windows debate.

My cousin works for his college and whenever somebody's computer gets totaled he saves the parts that still work, so about every week he ends up with a new computer that he has salvaged. It would be dope if he gave them out, but he sells them so I can't help you. Just thought Id throw that out there.

Hit up *simba*. I'm pretty sure his just went. I'm assuming this is a troll thread to get him mad. Go comment on his facebook status or something

hahah nah its not, but it sparked this thread because someone like him would probably sell me theirs cheap if they had 0 computer knowledge
he also has a shitty non-unibody mbp so not that interested in one

I have no idea. Don't even know his phone/email. I would imagine probably a little cheaper than an refurb. Wish i could help. I have asked him for parts before and he hasn't responded. I think 1000 bucks is a little more important to him than the good graces of a not well known cousin.

something w/o water damage, just a hard drive failure if I can find one. I did find a good deal on a 13" MBP w/ dedicated GPU+quadcore for $700, hopefully can talk the guy down some. Otherwise I'd like to spend $600ish

when did they make a 13 quad core?
From my experience with them, its only been dual cores in their 13 inch model.
Check out macsales.com, sometimes they toss up refurbs

Yupp. Pre-unibody. I'm replacing my hard drive and disk drive, though.
Good luck finding one!
