So my friend manages a bar and they just opened about 3 weeks ago. They've got a dance floor,DJ booth, great lighting, and all the fixins.. but he was telling me how the cops busted in last Saturday night and made everyone there stop dancing to the music, and made them put signs on the doors displaying "NO DANCING ALLOWED", because they didn't have a permit? They came back Sunday night randomly and people were dancing again, and they threatened to fine to owners if they didn' stop people. I understand needing a permit for establishments that serve beverages of a refreshing nature.. but having to go thru red tape and applications with a city government to dance? thats unheard of... So until they get a permit apparently no one can commence to doing the harlem shakedown. I dont see how a city can enforce this anways... Anyone else heard of this "law" in your area??
