Cant say anything on eg2 but ive had great luck with oakley goggles.... I have multiple pairs and the Splices are comfy and big like EG2 but are super durable and extra lenses are as low as 45 bucks on some websites

I love my eg2s.
I wouldnt say they are less durable than competing brands, its the fact that they bubble out more than other gogs, leaving the apex of the bubbled lens more open and unprotected from being scratched. If you are careful with your shit and dont just toss your goggs around/leave them at the bottom of your bag then they will be fine.

Bronze/Red chrome is only $44 + shipping at the moment. Or you could opt for a regular smoke/grey lens which is even cheaper. Just remember to let your goggles dry before storing them and never wipe your lenses while they are soaked or with anything but a microfiber cloth.

Its a matter of whether you take good care of your gear or not, not the lense. Ive had mine for two years and there is very minimal scratching on them. just use the box the come in for transportation to and from the mtn. and keep them in their bag and box when ever you arnt using them.
