so ive been hearing a lot about this mSnow shit for summer setups and i saw it on the video of the day like two days ago and it looks pretty sick. i want some really bad...any thoughts +k

Its awesome! We use it for our indoor set up in Brooklyn NY. So much more speed than a turf so you don't need a massive drop.

mSnow is great. The only problem is when you fall at a higher speed it feels like falling into a spike pit.

Ya MsNow is real legit, they make them now out of recycled orange construction barrels and they are great for summer setups...my buddy has a massive drop into a jump into his lake and its real sick, throwing doubles all day off of it

nope you just spray it down with water. its just hard plastic


personally, i don't like msnow. it feels like ice when you ride on it. it tore up my base pretty bad when i used it. and, if you fall it tears your skin off. but, it does what its supposed to do very well. you go fast

Maybe for a west coast skier it would hurt to fall on. But east coasters should feel right at home! We do recommend to our athletes to wear long sleeves, pants and even some pipe gloves. We also did a lot of research and even wasted money on other surfaces before finding the right fit with Msnow. As for the price its one of the cheapest grid like surfaces. The turf is cheaper but not nearly as effective.

yea it does. my brother fell on it and tore all the skin off his hand and thigh. no kidding it was pretty crazy.

it is a lot better than turf. a lot less maintenance, it lasts longer, and is faster. it just sucks to fall on. also, after using it for a week i had very deep grooves in my base. i ended up getting a refinish on them

so what ur saying is not to use ur favorite pair of skis cause they get trashed. and id probably only use it for a drop in putting this into consideration. i usually use a tarp for a landing and load it up with water and it works perfectly.

excatly. the landings of like every jump at loon is a fuckin block of ice and usually by the end of the day its complete slush and u go slow as shit...i guess thats what u get for making snow. i bet people that have never been to the east coast dont know what a snow gun is.

yea don't use you're favorite skis. i wouldn't use it for the landing but for the drop in/ in run it would work, and you wouldnt have to make your drop in very tall

ya mine right now is probably a little over 5 feet at its highest setting and i just get enough speed there

I had a conversation with some riders at MT Hood about snow guns. They couldn't believe that mountains make it an advertising point to who has the most guns. I told them how important that is on the East. For example we would not have had any season this year without them. You should really talk to Luke from Msnow he is an awesome down to earth guy that will help you with all your questions.

I just got back from Ohio Dreams, which uses MSnow (the white version, not the orange) on its water ramps.

First of all, Ohio Dreams is absolutely the sickest. If you're in the East and don't want to shell it out for Windells, then OD is the place to be.

As far as the MSnow works, it's actually pretty sick, for the most part. It definitely gives you some speed, but it has it's flaws as well. First of all, it was advertised to last 20 years. While I was at camp, they had a problem with the bristles on 3 year old MSnow snapping. It looked like that might have just been a bad batch though, as the problem was localized to a few spots on the ramp. Furthermore, the little spikes themselves feel like plastic knives. DO NOT FALL ON MSNOW. I repeat: DO NOT FALL ON MSNOW. That shit will tear the skin off of your arms quicker than you can ask if the camera was on. Seriously. Finally, it doesn't work that well with snowboarders. It's really hit-or-miss as the whether or not a boarder can have success on it. Some boarders just can't stay up on it (and thus get their exposed skin turned into steaks).

On the whole though, it definitely did its job for getting us off the ramps and I'm a fan.

yep, i went there last year. i remember mark tried to hit it switch and the first try he messed his wrists up pretty bad. and thats where my brother fell on it. did you go to session 2?

a big part of it is friction. with turf, more surface area of the ski is consumed which equals more friction and less speed. with msnow, since u ride on spikes, it consumes less surface area and water only adds to that

yeah i had this problem! im a snowboarder and was wondering why skiiers were able to do the jump so easily. It was almost impossible to stay up on that stuff on a snowboard.

I've skied on both msnow and snowflex and snow flex(if you can find it) is a trillion times better, good speed, the worst you'll bet is a rugburn if you fall and it wont tear up your bases
