Coming to U of C

So I'm coming to UofC this upcoming year for business, but one thing I am particularly interested in hearing from people from past experience in this situation would be where to get a seasons pass?

I wont have a vehicle, so im wondering on the different ways of getting to the local resorts?

If you have been in this situation, or have experience with this sort of thing, please feel free to offer me some advice!

Well there is COP for a local park, which can be reached by transit, it take awhile though. You can probably also find rides (just ask me or someone once you've met them). There are plenty of hills around for all mountain skiing. People generally choose Sunshine or Lake Louise. I personally go to Kicking Horse, but my parents live in Golden, so it's achievable for me. So pick a hill, I'd say Louise, I love that hill. Sunshine is too mellow for me.

how's norquay? it seems attractive to me since it's closer than sunshine/louise and is an actual mountain unlike cop

its worth it to drive the extra 15 to sunshine.
but people on here will says its worth it to drive the extra 45 to louise.

sunshine if you dig freeride zone, louise if like epic park and good freeride areas and DO NOT choose norquay much better options.

If you are a Big Mountain rider, definitely get a Louise Pass, student is $530 I think. Meet people and carpool, then pitch for gas, I'll be driving to Louise almost every weekend, also a first year university student.

it shouldn't' be too hard to get a ride up. I know myself and a few other ns'ers at u of c that head up pretty much every weekend. As for passes i'm getting a louise pass this season just cause i'm tired of sunshine and they really dropped the ball on their park this year. and i'm hoping to get some more mountain in that's closer to home instead of driving 3+ hrs. Mountain in the morning and park afternoon. it's way more accessible than sunshine.

join the u of c ski club and make some friends, there are alot of people that u can meet up with easily and become ski buddies with and u will have rides every weekend

if you want people who are more ski oriented and not just "lets get black out drunk every weekend and not be able to ski on the trip I paid $300 for cause i'm so hungover" join the u of c snowboard club instead. The ski club is 1/2 people who don't ski at all, over 1/4 are massive gapers and a minuscule amount are legit.

Just found out my transfer application to U of C got accepted. Planning on heading west again this winter. Most of you guys doing Lake or shine passes?

I'll be getting a LL pass if I can get some money together before the presale ends. But I'm not even sure how I'll be paying for rent come November so it's looking less and less promising.

I'll probably be heading out to Louise a little more this season.
Still have a KH pass if anyone ever wants to come out there.
