I just bought some 179 recoils and am going to mount my marker griffons on them, just wondering where people have been mounting and what they're been liking. I spend about half of my time in the park and half of my time all mountain/backcountry. I land and ride switch a lot, but still want these skis to perform out back and in the booters.
-2 from true center sounds like a pretty good spot for you, although if you're planning on using this ski in the powder, I would probably look at the Kung Fujas as a more versatile alternative. The on3p geronimo, moment pb&j, or the line blend could also work very well as an all mountain park ski.
Thanks for the advice! Yeah I skis the jeronimos this year and loved them, unfortunately I couldn't afford them. The PB&J's were the same deal. I've found myself skiing a bit more on the groomers and park than any powder (don't get a whole lot of powder days anymore) so the recoil looked like a solid ski for me, and a bit more stable than my elizabeths on bigger jumps. -2 sounds like it would hold up well enough for me to get my groove on in both though.
I use mine on days with no pow, so all mountain and park, and I have mine at true center. I had ten on a few deep low days, and they weren't horrible, not great though. I'd say -2 for a more versatility , center if you can sacrifice some low performance for better spin weight
